“Behold your God!” Behold, the Lord God comes with might, and his arm rules for him; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him. He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young.”
Isaiah 40:9-11
Our God is so mighty, so powerful, so majestic, so holy, that at times we should simply stand in awe of him. As Isaiah 40 says, we should “behold” his greatness.
But yet he is also so tender, so near, so compassionate that he gathers us up like lambs in the arms of a good shepherd and simply holds us in the midst of our brokenness.
